The lightbulb is burned out...

...and when a bulb burns out, do not, under any circumstances, throw it away in the house garbage.

Energy efficient lamps, like incandescent lamps, contain toxins that are not permitted in house garbage, including relatively small amounts of heavy metals and flame retardents, as well as up to 5 milligrams of mercury. For this reason, lightbulbs must be taken to your local recycling center.

Therefore Mawa Design, in cooporation with the municipality of Michendorf, has set up collection containers for this purpose. These are open to the public during municipal business hours at our address in the Poststrasse.
