A light object designed by the interior architect Sylvia Hannibal separates the client consultation and conference room areas of the private banking branch of the Hannover Sparkasse Bank in an innovative way. One hundred delicate light rods, curved lightly in different radii and placed at different heights, give the impression of a shoreline bordered with reeds. Stainless steel pipes serve as the “stalks” of the reed-like lights. Each stalks’ tip is constructed of an etched borosilicate cylinder lit internally by a low volt halogen bulb.
Dimmable transformer technology is positioned between a doubled base plate that also serves to structurally anchor the lights. A cover layer of either pebbles or bark mulch hides the technical infrastructure. All lights are mounted with separate plug connections on the base to permit revisions on an individual basis. Due to the long cable runs, magnetic ballasts are used in conjunction with a DALI light management system.
