Berlin in a new light: Unter den Linden underground station

The route of the newly built segment of the U5 metro line is open. The route connects Alexanderplatz with Hauptbahnhof and a whole host of buildings along the way outfitted with mawa lights. Beginning at Alexanderplatz underground station with the Kongresshalle from Hermann Henselmann, the route passes Nikolaikirche, the Humboldtforum with new seventies 70’s plus spotlights, and continues to the Futurium at the Bundestag.

Arriving now: Unter den Linden underground station. Crown chandeliers by mawa illuminate the Upper Eastside residential and commercial complex above ground, and now, mawa illuminates the new underground station designed by architects, Ingrid Hentschel und Axel Oestreich below. mawa designed, constructed and produced a total of seven custom luminaires for the most modern underground station in Berlin, which fulfill the highest requirements and are DEKRA type-certified products.

The custom produced, recessed ceiling lights, illuminate the platform as if it were a bright hall, and luminaires, recessed in the dark shell-limestone walls from Franconian Kirchheim, lend the access stairs a noble feeling.

mawa wishes all a good journey.
