Between light art and light technology

Giving mawa its place in the wide world of luminaires is difficult because the company defies clear categorisation. Some call mawa a treasure hunter for reissuing classics with the latest technology.

Design-oriented people see the minimalist, reduced table, floor, wall, and ceiling luminaires for which mawa has won many awards. Because of the high standard of lighting quality and application possibilities, professional lighting designers use mawa’s modular system luminaires in sophisticated objects. A constant factor is mawa’s highly motivated staff and the production made in Germany.

Very bright bulbs

They are creative, innovative, inspiring: designers and architects whose designs mawa has developed and realised. It’s because of their ideas that the world of luminaires has become more diverse. The illumination of many a building has become much more appropriate.

mawa is a pioneer

mawa’s understanding of design and claim to innovation are reflected in the excellent workmanship of its products, in technical sophistication and in the patents held. All products are originals, which are developed and manufactured at the Seddin site south of Berlin from the first sketch to the production-ready prototype. They are recognized in the professional world ⎯ they are in the collections of museums all over the world, they win design awards and are the subject of various publications.
