We warmly congratulate the lighting designers Cybulska & Partner on receiving the German Lighting Design Award 2023!
In the category “Refurbishment”, the lighting concept they refurbished for the Frauenfrieden Church in Frankfurt am Main was awarded. The church, which was fundamentally refurbished and restored from 2018 to 2020, now shines again in the colourfulness of the construction period and is illuminated by recessed luminaires, surface-mounted luminaires and track spotlights from our wittenberg 4.0 and seventies series, among others.
The architect’s well-documented original lighting concept was taken up by Cybulska & Partner, supplemented and brought up to the current technical standard in order to restore the original character of the modern sacred building.
The Frauenfriedenskirche is based on an idea of the Catholic German Women’s Association, which wanted to build a national memorial for the fallen of the First World War. The Catholic women’s associations collected donations nationwide to finance the construction. In 1929, the church was completed and consecrated. The special mission for peace and the remembrance of the victims of war and violence are still the focus of parish activities today.
