Hotel Hilton Garden Inn, Exterior Lighting Mannheim
Profile spotlight for the facade, downlight for the walkway
The first impression of the Hilton Hotel at the Mannheim main train station is shaped by four portals of the historical German Reichspost integrated in the new facade. The most impressive of the four marks the entrance to the hotel, and at night, is highlighted by an especially warm-toned light.
It contrasts with the much cooler staging of the new facade, the structure of which is emphasized in a modern, yet subtle way, by slender cylinder lights custom-made by mawa. The light is emitted by slits from behind and is concentrated exclusively on the facade. An integrated downlight illuminates the pathway below.

mawa had already delivered the substructure to be anchored in the shell construction one year prior to the completion of the building. A specially constructed spacer defined the opening within the curtain wall and later served as the mount for the lighting element.
