Christ Church is the central site of the evangelical parish in the small border town of Kehl, near Strasbourg. The classical style church, built in 1822 is characterized by a strict spatial geometry and formal simplicity.
In the course of renovations, completed in 2018, mawa fabricated custom lighting according to the design and specifications of the lighting design company Candela. Ten suspended lights, consisting of three satin-finished acrylic glass tubes each, illuminate the room volume with a diffused radiant characteristic. Additional spotlights positioned on the top and bottom ends of the pendants allow for targeted illumination of the floor and ceiling.
Thirty wall-mounted lights maintain the style, although formally reduced to one slender tube apiece. Here as well, depending on their location, a spotlight was also added to the top.
