mawa’s luminaires perfectly complement the holistic concept for healthy and sustainable living by mlab.design. In the exclusive vacation home project mlab.relax in the Eifel National Park, light plays a central role: “For us, light is design – it influences how a space feels,” says Christian Brecht, Managing Director of mlab.design. The installed mawa luminaires create an atmosphere of calm and clarity – enhanced by sustainable lighting that underscores both the architectural and interior concept.

“We chose mawa because their luminaires combine timeless design, the highest light quality, and sustainable production ‘Made in Germany’ – a perfect match for our holistic concept of healthy and sustainable living.”

The six cabins in Rurberg combine minimalist interior design with a healthy indoor climate. Daylight, natural materials, and luminaires with high light quality help create an environment that promotes relaxation. The sustainable lighting used by mawa is more than just functional – it is an integral part of the architecture.

“The luminaires from mawa perfectly integrate into our interior concept with their timeless design and high-quality lighting effect, helping to create a space for relaxation and concentration.”

Christian Brecht, Managing Director of mlab.design

The sustainable construction concept of the cabins impresses with CO₂ storage in solid wood, pure material recycling, and screw foundations without soil sealing. The luminaires from mawa seamlessly align with this approach – with durable quality, regional manufacturing, and energy-efficient technology, the lighting also embodies innovation and responsibility.

“With mlab.design, we aim to develop the highest quality, healthiest, and most sustainable living concept in the German-speaking world,” says Christian Brecht. Sustainable lighting is not an option for mlab.design, but a prerequisite – just like a holistic architecture that harmonizes people and the environment.

The mlab.relax project demonstrates: Architecture, design, and lighting can set new standards together – with a consistent focus on healthy living, aesthetics, and sustainable lighting.
